The MtC project aims at enhancing social and labor inclusion of people with a migrant profile, a low qualified level and from a particular disadvantaged background, who work in the Home Care Service / Residential Care sector under precarious conditions. Through education and training tailored to the needs for cultural, communication and professional trainings, low-qualified adult migrants will enhance their access to equal and legal employment conditions and progress towards higher qualifications.

There is a growing shortage in the Care Service Sector, however, a high proportion of migrants are employed under semi-legal conditions, very often without a training certificate or work license. To overcome existing structural barriers and discriminatory praxis, the project will develop business partnerships with Care Service Providers.

Regarding the main objective of the MtC project, it is to enhance the quality of caregiving and employment conditions of people with a migrant profile in the Home/Residential Care Service Sector.

The topics and outcomes expected are divided in three categories to be tackled with:

• Migrants’ issues: 1. Improvement of cultural and language knowledge, 2. Enhancement of precarious labor situation, 3. Overcome structural barriers

• Recognition: Skills assessment strategy for recognition non-formal/informal learning

• Health and Wellbeing: 1. Improvement of care giving to elderly people, 2. Support in recruiting of people with a migrant profile in Service Care
